KESAB CLEAN UP MORNING June 2007 Photos and text by John Cullen |

After safety vests, instructions, and bags were given out we spaced ourselves along the side of the road and started doing our bit for the community and environment. We were spread at 300m intervals to enable us to thoroughly clean the 2km stretch of road which we had to cover. Many hands make light work and after a couple of hours we had collected over 30 bags full of litter, with some of the more interesting items including pvc pipes, wheel covers, an array of car tyres, general litter, dvd boxes that had fallen off the back of a truck (unfortunately without the contents in them!) A drive along the highway afterwards really showed us what a difference we had made in such a short amount of time, and gave us all a great sense of achievement! Afterwards we were invited back to Steve and Kathy’s where a lovely morning tea was laid on for us. A big thank you must go to KENNARD’s HIRE for the complimentary use of one of their trailers for the morning. The Adelaide Jeep Club cleans this part of the highway 3 times per year.
